The Deal is a slow-burning mini-thriller about lust, revenge and a classic
1970 Ford Mustang. Audience favourite Glenn Robbins (Lantana, Russell Coight’s
All Aussie Adventures, BoyTown) made his short film debut in a dramatic
role alongside Tim Draxl (Dirty Deeds, Swimming Upstream) and Jane Allsop
(Blue Heelers, MDA).
When Dan (Draxl) decides to sell his prized Mustang he meets prospective
buyer Mike (Robbins). Dan is impressed with Mike’s detailed knowledge
of the car, but when the test drive takes an unexpected turn we begin
to realise things are not quite what they seem.
The Deal features an original, noir-inspired score by musical wunderkind
David Thrussell (The Hard Word, Thunderstruck) and was shot on High Definition
by cinematographer Katie Milwright winner of the inaugural Cointreau
Women in Film Prize at Tropfest 2006.
